Finally i got my time to update my blog today.Ok, you might be wondering what is P.I.D? I think many people in art lines will know bout this.But for the sake of rambling, i will explain a bit about the meaning of it. P.I.D is an acronym for Pen and Ink Drawing or some artist might called it Pattern and Ink Drawing. Because it involve patterns and outlines, the usual tools to make it is using a pen or marker.

Materials

If you notice here, i kinda have quite a few of my own artwork collection of P.I.D.The materials i use is just a plain paper size F4 with Faber Castell black pen with some ball point. For the highlights i use the VCD marker pen. VCD marker pen??? Well yes, actually any markers would do but i personally use the VCD marker as the pen point size is smaller like 0.5mm. Various sizes can be applied like 0.7mm or even 0.8mm but overall it depends on what type of images you want to draw.

The Concept

As for P.I.D, black and white is usually became the major point here. If you convert it into colors using Illustrator it might become more to illustration.The concept i used here is more to current issue that have struck the world.Save GAZA is the main concept here. You can see the details i put in the first 2 images.The actual size is about 8 inches x 11.5 inches which is bigger than i show in the gallery.For the rest of the artworks, i used skulldeart concept. The usual own trademark of dark theme.

The “Rachel Corrie” image has been inverted using adobe photoshop to get the black touch.

TIPS: To get the real black and white for any scanned material of pen and pencil i personally used the mode of gray and adjust the level in photoshop but you also can get a great effect by taking the Image > Adjustments > Black and White…

The Techniques

Well, in drawing usually a technique is required to get the best result.To people who are not familiar with the techniques,hatching is one of it.It can be applied for tone and texture in the graphic. But theres a lot of elements you can use, hundreds of it or even thousands of it. Hatching is just one of it.I personally like to invent new techniques by looking at textures and patterns. The “dot” is one of the simplest technique you can applied.But roughly it depends on your creativity. The more unique patterns you produce the more unique your artwork would be.
